The International House of Prayer (IHOP) holds a Encountering God service every Friday evening which can be viewed on either YouTube or in the IHOP video Archives. The sermon by Mike Bickle I referenced in this video was presented on Friday, April 2, 2021. The worship portion of the service is beautiful, but if you wish to go directly to the sermon it can be found at 1 hour 4 minutes. Mike will be unpacking the Upper Room Discourse over the next weeks and months, so I’d encourage you to follow The Encounter God services as you engage the memorization.

There are many Bible versions. I will be using the New International Version because it is a fairly close translation that is easy for me to memorize and understand. But I also like to read The Passion Translation (TPT), The Message (MSG), and The Tree of Life Version (TLV) for comparison. These and many other versions of the Bible can be found on your Internet browser. You can check out the variety of apps for download so you can return to the passage as well as review other passages and commentaries. The one I use is You Version The Bible App. Check it out to see if it is a good fit for you

Mind Over Mood is a classic self-help book originally published in the 1990s. I have used this book quite a lot in my counseling practice. I prefer the original version over the current edition. You can still find used copies of the original at a very reasonable price…

Ancient Wisdom: I use the Bible, both the Torah and the Prophets and the New Testament, to confirm my study of Psychology and to guide my practice. At times psychological theory and research help me to focus on parallel principles in the Bible. I would encourage you to make reading the Bible a regular practice. There are many helpful aids; I mention a few in the references for the video Memory Challenge above. Below are the scriptures I referenced in this video.
